Some Effective Openers From Tyler Durden
‘I can’t start conversations with girls!’ This is generally what most of my students who are starting out in the game say to me when they meet me. As a former AFC and social recluse myself, it’s something I totally sympathise with. Most guys don’t go out onto the street and just start conversations with attractive girls, but this is what will make you different. One of the openers one of my favorite PUA’s, Tyler Durden PUA from Real Social Dynamics suggest you use is the ‘David Bowie opener’, which goes as follows:
‘Hey guys, quick question: Do you think David Bowie is hot? Because my friend’s little sister has posters of David Bowie all over her wall. He’s old! Do girls think old men are hot?!’
You can use any popular celebrity instead of David Bowie, and it’s probably better to use someone who you have an opinion on, as you will be able to go into conversation more naturally and won’t come across as a pick up artist.
What I like about this Real Social Dynamics opener is that it’s so quick and easy to remember, and you’re unlikely to get a one word answer. If you’re unsure of what to say to girls, or you feel that the delivery of your longer openers might be slightly robotic, then use this. After a few times you’ll be able to use the material gleaned from your sets and have longer, more natural conversations.
The really important thing is that it doesn’t matter what you say, it’s how you say it. If you project enough confidence, which will come from practice, you can pretty much say anything. Someone like Tyler Durden PUA will have the confidence and strong inner game to be able to just spontaneously start conversations which will get him into sets. Mystery has been known to go up to groups of girls sitting at a table, slam his hand down and say ‘what do you think of black nail polish?’ It’s not a conventional opinion opener, but it works for Mystery because of the confidence he’s built up, and his abilities to start a conversation.
Tyler Durden PUA and Real Social Dynamics have countless openers that you can use and try out, but at the end of the day, they’re not the most important part of the interaction, and no opener is good enough to guarantee your place in the set, on matter how good a pick up artist you are. They have to be delivered with confidence, and then forgotten about, as you move on to hooking your target. Try making your own opinion openers, some could follow the tried and tested formula of needing a female opinion, where as others could be more innovative and irreverent. Go and practice them, and see what works for you, and you will be on your way to building a strong natural game.
