SVHS versus SVideo?
Hi ,
I have an ATI RADEON graphics card (x550) and I connected it my TV and got only black and white picture. I tried changing software configurations without success but then I noticed something. My graphics card spec says the TV output is S-video and the cable I’m using says SVHS to RCA but the socket fits to the card. Could it be the problem ? And is there any difference between these two formats at all ?
S-video: A process of transferring and recording standard composite video in which the chrominance (color) and luminance (saturation) are handled separately in order to reduce picture noise. Used by HI-8 and S-VHS format devices…..according to “The Complete Guide to Digital Video” by Ed Gaske
